QUEZON CITY--The Palawan Group of Companies hosted a send-off dinner and contract signing event with the UP Fighting Maroons as they rekindle their partnership ahead of UAAP Season 87, where the men's, women's, and juniors' basketball teams are set to play during the first semester of the league.

All of UP's basketball lineups were present during the event which marked five years of a strong alliance between the college program and the fast-rising pawnshop empire.

Asked why the Palawan Group chose the UP Fighting Maroons, chief financial officer Lilian Selda jokingly answered "No choice" since her five siblings all studied at the UP.

Kidding aside, Selda said, "It's not a question of why."

She emphasized that it is about giving back to the UP which helped them become who they are today.

UAAP Season 87 will be hosted by UP, and the league is set to hold its opening ceremonies on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
