Behind RJ Abarrientos' 28-point showcase, Ginebra nears PBA Govs' Cup Finals with semis Game 5 rout of SMB

MANILA--RJ Abarrientos delivered a masterful performance for Ginebra in the pivotal Game 5 of the PBA Governors' Cup semifinals as he led the team to a 121-92 rout of San Miguel on Friday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Abarrientos delivered a career-high 28 points with three rebounds and two assists as the Gin Kings made quick work of the Beermen to take a commanding 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Scottie Thompson also delivered for Ginebra, which can close out the series on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, with 22 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

EJ Anosike was held to only 21 points, six rebounds, and three assists, while June Mar Fajardo tallied 17 points, 18 rebounds, and two assists for SMB.
