Converge sends PBA Govs' Cup QFs vs weary SMB to sudden death

MANILA—Converge's miracle run in the PBA Governors' Cup quarterfinals continued on Friday night after bombing a weary San Miguel squad, 114-100, in Game 4 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The FiberXers waxed hot in the third quarter, outscoring the Beermen, 37-24, to pull away from there.

Schonny Winston led Converge with 26 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Justin Arana added 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists, one block, and one steal.

Import Jalen Jones contributed 22 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and four steals.

EJ Anosike led SMB, which played its fifth game in all competitions in the past nine nights, with 35 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and one steal.

June Mar Fajardo added 17 points, 20 rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.

Game 5 is set on Sunday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
