MANILA––College of St. Benilde drew one step nearer to sealing a return to the NCAA Final Four after drubbing Jose Rizal University, 80-65, on Sunday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.
The Blazers quickly stomped their dominance on the Heavy Bombers and eventually sealed their win in the third quarter by holding their opponents to only seven points.
Ian Torres led CSB, now at 10-2, with 16 points, one rebound, two assists, and one steal, while Allen Liwag added 12 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
The team can book its place in the semifinals with three more wins.
Joshua Guiab put up 17 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals for JRU, which dropped to a tie with San Sebastian at the bottom at 3-9.
