ANTIPOLO--What is Jordan Heading doing in the Philippines?

The former Gilas Pilipinas gunner was one of an Ynares Center record-setting 11,021 people who watched Game 1 of the PBA Governors' Cup Finals between TNT and Ginebra on Sunday night.

His appearance alone was already a surprise as his return to the country, in general, was left unnoticed.

Heading has remained a free agent since he last played for Strong Group Athletics in the Jones Cup, but rumors surfaced last week that he might finally be heading to the PBA.

When asked about finally joining the PBA, Heading, who was drafted by Terrafirma in the 2021 draft via the special Gilas round, said, "Hopefully I can work something out. I mean it's a great league. I'd really love to play here. We'll see what happens."

However, the 28-year-old shooting guard also acknowledges that the other teams need to talk to the Dyip first if they want to acquire him.

"There are some talks here and there, but Terrafirma has my right, so we'll leave it at that," Heading continued.

He then clarified, "I haven't signed anything yet."

For now, he is enjoying the PBA as a spectator, all the more that he witnessed the most packed Ynares Center crowd for a sports event ever.

"I'm just more here watching the guys that I know and just taking in the great atmosphere that the PBA has," Heading further said.

Reacting to Game 1 won by the Tropang Giga, Heading said, "It was great. Great game and a great atmosphere. Really high-level basketball as well, so it's good to see."
