QUEZON CITY--Allen Durham has called it a PBA career.
The 36-year-old hulking forward is bidding goodbye to the league after playing for six Governors' Cups from 2014-2024.
PBA-wise, he was Meralco's longtime import and had been at least considered for the job during the Governors' Cup since 2016, two years after first suiting up for Barako Bull.
Durham led the Bolts to their first three finals appearances, which planted the seeds for their 2024 Philippine Cup championship.
“[I had] been through many wars with [Allen Durham]. Brother, Warrior, True Pro. He will always be a part of our Bolts family,” said Meralco head coach Luigi Trillo in his Instagram story that confirmed the three-time Best Import's PBA retirement on Wednesday.
Durham, who turned pro in 2011, finally got his elusive title last year when he led the Ryukyu Golden Kings to the 2023 Japan B.League championship, also giving Carl Tamayo his first championship in the play-for-pay ranks.
His homecoming at the Okinawa Arena during Meralco's EASL clash against Ryukyu turned out to be Durham's last game as a Bolt.
Meralco threw a thanksgiving party for Durham on Tuesday as the Wyoming, Michigan native is returning to the United States on Thursday.
