MANILA––Emilio Aguinaldo College caused a three-way jumble in the middle of the team standings after a 97-86 win over San Sebastian College-Recoletos in NCAA Season 100, Tuesday night at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

The Generals concluded the first round with a 4-5 record, tying them with the Perpetual Help Altas and Lyceum Pirates for fifth place.

Harvey Pagsanjan scored a career-high 20 points on a 78 percent shooting clip along with three rebounds and two assists.

“We badly needed this win because if we lost, we would’ve been at the bottom of the standings, so this gave us a fighting chance,” EAC head coach Jerson Cabiltes said.

Pagsanjan's hot shooting powered the Generals' second-half surge, helping them establish a 21-point lead.

Meanwhile, Raymart Escobido and the Golden Stags mounted a comeback in the penultimate quarter, but the Generals' composure spoiled their rally.

King Gurtiza and Jude Bagay contributed 14 and 13 points, respectively, while Wilmar Oftana and Kyle Ochavo chipped in 10 and nine points, respectively.

On the other hand, Escobido paced San Sebastian with 19 points, while TJ Felebrico recorded a 21-point double-double along with 12 rebounds.
