MANILA––Emilio Aguinaldo College turned things around in the second half to beat Perpetual Help, 78-70, in their NCAA second-round encounter on Friday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.
Down by as much as 24 points in the first half, the Generals outscored the Altas, 46-24, in the last 20 minutes to take the come-from-behind victory.
King Gurtiza led EAC, which joined Lyceum in a tie for fifth place at 5-5, one game behind Letran for fourth in the tight Final Four race, with 21 points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Wilmar Oftana added 12 points, eight rebounds, one assist, and three steals, while Gelo Loristo went 4-for-4 from the field for 10 points with two rebounds off the bench.
Shawn Orgo put up 16 points, two assists, and four steals for Perpetual Help, which fell out of the previous three-way tie with EAC and Lyceum at the end of the first round and dropped to seventh place at 4-6.
