MANILA––Emilio Aguinaldo College scored a very vital win in its NCAA Final Four aspirations by stifling Letran, 68-58, on Wednesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

The Generals leaned on their defense to claw the Knights, holding them to only 30.2 percent shooting including a dismal 5-of-31 from three-point range.

Harvey Pagsanjan led EAC, which is now in fourth place with a 7-7 record, with 13 points, three rebounds, five assists, and one steal.

Kyle Ochavo added 10 points, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

Jimboy Estrada and Joseph Nunag each scored 10 points with Estrada adding 14 rebounds for Letran, which slipped to fifth place at 7-8.

After finishing the first round still on track to catch up with the College of St. Benilde for first place, Letran lost five of its last six games to put them in danger of missing the Final Four for the second straight year.
