MANILA--Gab Cometa showed efficiency in only a short amount of time as he led the College of St. Benilde to a 100-77 rout of Arellano in their NCAA second-round game on Wednesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

The Blazers avenged their shock loss to the Chiefs in style, blowing them out from start to finish even as Cometa needed less than 15 minutes to score 23 points off the bench.

Cometa went 10-of-14 from the field including a near-flawless 3-of-4 from three-point range even as he also tallied one rebound and one assist for CSB, which moved up to 9-2, one game ahead of Mapua in the race for the top seed.

Justine Sanchez added 14 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

Basti Valencia put up 25 points also on 3-of-4 three-point shooting, eight rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block for Arellano,
