MANILA––Greg Cunanan played the hero for Lyceum as he went in the final plays of the team's 64-62 win against San Beda in their NCAA men's basketball second-round encounter on Tuesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

Cunanan made the game-winning three off Ato Barba picking up his own miss with 8.6 seconds left.

Cunanan then swiped the ball away from Bryan Sajonia as the latter tried to force overtime as the Pirates avenged their opening night defeat to the Red Lions.

Gyle Montano led Lyceum, which tied Letran for fourth place at 6-5, with 12 points, two rebounds, and two steals.

Cunanan added 11 points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

Bismarck Lina led San Beda, which fell to third place at 7-4, with 12 points, eight rebounds, and one assist.
