Quezon pulls away in Q4 to pip Parañaque in MPBL South semis opener

MANILA--Quezon showed its might in crunch time to nip Parañaque, 75-62, in Game 1 of the MPBL South Division Semifinals on Monday night at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena.

With their home fans rallying behind them, the Huskers pulled away from the Patriots in the fourth quarter, outscoring them 25-14 right after the visiting squad tried to keep the game close after the third.

Gab Banal and Ximone Sandagon each scored 16 points for Quezon, which can sweep the best-of-three series next Monday at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum.

John Oduba put up 14 points, eight rebounds, and one block for Parañaque.
