MANILA--Kuya Cardo is back!
Ricardo Ratliffe has been signed to play for Magnolia once more for the upcoming PBA Commissioner's Cup.
The six-foot-eight center, now aged 35, is making a return to the Hotshots after seven years since he became the naturalized player for South Korea.
Ratliffe played for the Hotshots, then known as the Purefoods Star Hotshots, for two straight editions of the PBA's mid-season conference in 2016 and 2017.
He led Magnolia to the playoffs on both occasions only to be knocked out eventually by San Miguel.
Since joining the South Korean national team, though, Ratliffe, known as Ra Gun-Ah in the Korean circuit, stayed in the KBL, returning to Ulsan from 2018-2020 before joining Busan for the next four years.
Ratliffe last played for Changsha Wantian Yongsheng in the Chinese NBL earlier this year.
He is expected to fly to the Philippines on Oct. 26, barely a month before the PBA Commissioner's Cup tips off on Nov. 27.
Ratliffe last stepped foot on Philippine soil in 2021 as part of South Korea's team to the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.
