Suwon turns back SMB in EASL opener

PASAY--Suwon finished strongly to beat San Miguel, 87-81, at the start of the 2024-2025 EASL season on Wednesday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Seeing their lead cut down to two, 75-73, the Sonicboom went on a 12-4 run late in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Beermen.

Rayshaun Hammonds fired 39 points with 14 rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Heo Hoon added 17 points, one rebound, nine assists, and three steals for Suwon.

EJ Anosike put up 34 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals for SMB, which played its fourth game in all competitions within one full week.
