MAKATI - Defending champions Team Liquid PH averted a Game 1 disaster to pull up a reverse sweep against an already-eliminated TNC Pro Team in the final week of MPL Philippines Season 14 regular season.
It was a different series from their Week 2 matchup where the Cavalry plucked the Phoenixes' wings with Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales grabbing the series MVP nod.
Daniel "SDzyz" Chu put up a masterful performance with the Hayabusa as he grabbed eight kills and assisted 13 more in a 24-7 thumping to the titleholders.
Alston "Sanji" Pabico's Valentina had an off game in the 20-minute tussle as he fell five while Sanfordn "Sanford" Vinuya and Jaypee "Jaypee" dela Cruz had six and five deaths, respectively.
Sanji bounced back in the second game with his signature Luo Yi pick tallying eight kills and 12 assists while Karl Gabriel "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno added eight more kills and assisted six.
Jomearie "Escalera" delos Santos only assisted three as he was slain five times with the roamer Chou.
The Liquid midlaner stepped up a notch in the final game with a 7/0/4 performance again with the Luo Yi, while tandem Sanford's Arlott grabbed two and assisted five more.
Escalera and Christian "Heads" Morada did little to soak TNC's damage while falling nine times in a 17-5 dismantling from the reigning champs.
Team Liquid will wrap up the league's regular season campaign against Falcons AP.Bren in the rematch of last season's finals.
