QUEZON CITY--TNT is now halfway from winning its second consecutive PBA Governors' Cup title after repeating over Ginebra, 96-84, in Game 2 on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Up by only one point after the third quarter, the Tropang Giga outscored the Gin Kings, 24-13, in the fourth quarter to pull away for good.
Held to only 19 points in Game 1, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson exploded for 37 points, going 13-of-23 from the field including 6-of-12 from three-point range, 13 rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and one block for TNT, now 2-0 up in the best-of-seven series.
Calvin Oftana and Glenn Khobuntin each added 13 points with the former also grabbing 14 rebounds.
Justin Brownlee was limited to only 19 points with nine rebounds, three assists, and two blocks for Ginebra.
