MANILA--Gilas Pilipinas is likely sticking with the 12-man lineup they submitted for the New Zealand game when they clash with Hong Kong in the tail end of their FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers homestand on Sunday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas has yet to reveal the roster as of posting, but based on what is reflected in the FIBA website, there will be no change from the Gilas lineup that stunned New Zealand on Thursday night in front of 11,686 fans.
This means that contrary to popular speculations, Justin Brownlee will still see action for Gilas and not Ange Kouame.
This also effectively rules the injured AJ Edu out for the entire November window.
Brownlee will still be joined by Chris Newsome, Scottie Thompson, Kai Sotto, June Mar Fajardo, CJ Perez, Calvin Oftana, Mason Amos, Dwight Ramos, Japeth Aguilar, Kevin Quiambao, and Carl Tamayo.
Gilas can clinch an outright spot in the FIBA Asia Cup if they beat Hong Kong and if New Zealand turns back Chinese Taipei on Monday night in Christchurch.
