MANILA--Hong Kong gave the Philippines a reality check ahead of the latter's campaign in next month's ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup with a 3-1 win in their FIFA friendly on Thursday night at the Hong Kong Stadium.
Everton Camargo and Matthew Orr delivered the dagger late goals for Hong Kong as the PMNFT looked poise to walk away with a draw on the road.
Orr scored the opening goal for Hong Kong in the 44th minute, but Bjorn Kristensen got one back for the PMNFT in the 49th minute with a solid counterattack finish.
Camargo, though, sneaked a counterattack goal of his own in the 83rd minute to put Hong Kong back up, 2-1.
Orr then scored a header off a free kick right before the final whistle to seal Hong Kong's win.
This is the only match scheduled for the PMNFT this November FIFA window as its supposed home match against Sri Lanka on Tuesday night was called off.
Instead, the PMNFT will hold an open training session on Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
