MANILA--Filipino import SJ Belangel added another feather to his cap, reaching 1,100 career points in the KBL during Daegu KOGAS Pegasus's 80-58 blowout win over Busan KCC Egis on Friday night.
The former Gilas Pilipinas cager, now in his third year with Daegu, contributed 19 points and eight assists, leading the Pegasus in their second-half surge where they outscored the Egis, 49-28, to secure the road victory at the Sajik Arena in Busan.
Former PBA import Andrew Nicholson led the way for Daegu with 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting and 11 rebounds.
Lee Ho-Hyun led the Egis with 11 points on 4-for-7 field goals, one rebound, one assist, and three steals.
Calvin Epistola only had two points, one rebound, and three assists.
Meanwhile, in the other matchup, Juan Gomez de Liaño and the Seoul SK Knights needed a fourth-quarter run to outlast Carl Tamayo and the Changwon LG Sakers, 72-66, at the Changwon Gymnasium.
Seoul SK fought its way back by limiting Changwon to only eight points in the final frame.
Jameel Warney led the Knights with 25 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, one block, and two steals, while Kim Sun-Hyung added 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting, two rebounds, five assists, and one steal.
Assem Marei led Changwon with 18 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, and one block.
Tamayo was two rebounds short of a double-double and added 13 points in 30 minutes, while Gomez de Liaño went scoreless in his five minutes on the court.
With their wins, the Pegasus and the Knights tied the Goyang Sono Skygunners at the top of the standings at 4-1.
Goyang, though, can return to solo first with a win against winless Seoul Samsung on Saturday.
