MANILA--Are we about to see Kevin Alas and Jerom Lastimosa back in action?

Both guards are listed in their respective teams' lineups ahead of the PBA Commissioner's Cup, a positive sign that they could be back in action after suffering ACL injuries.

Alas injured his knee for the third time on Nov. 18, 2023 in NLEX's game against Terrafirma at the Ynares Center in Antipolo, the same arena where he got his two previous ACL tears.

Lastimosa, on the other hand, suffered a full ACL injury right in his return game from a partial tear in Adamson's game against the University of the Philippines also last year in the UAAP.

Magnolia took the risk of having to let him sit out for the PBA Governors' Cup and drafted Lastimosa in the first round of this year's draft with Peter Alfaro taken in the third round to temporarily take Lastimosa's place for the conference.

To make room for Alas and Lastimosa, the Hotshots sent Alfaro to the injury reserve list, while the Road Warriors relegated Mike Miranda to their own IR list.

NLEX opens its campaign in the mid-season conference on Thursday night against NorthPort at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Interestingly enough, the Road Warriors' next game will be on Saturday night against the Blackwater Bossing at the Ynares Center.

The following evening, Magnolia begins its own bid against Converge at the said venue.
