PASIG—Taoyuan was just too much for San Miguel even if Quincy Miller carried the fight as the Taiwanese club pummeled the PBA powerhouse, 101-85, in their EASL encounter on Wednesday night at the PhilSports Arena.

The Pilots crumbled the Beermen in the second half, outscoring them, 32-13, to open a 57-33 halftime lead.

The game took an interesting turn when Alec Brown was sent off late in the game after swinging an elbow at Jericho Cruz which triggered a commotion between both players and Miller.

Despite that, Taoyuan's lead was already too much to overcome for SMB.

Brown led the Pilots, now 2-0 to tie the Hiroshima Dragonflies in the top spot for Group A, with 27 points, nine rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal.

Trevor Graham and Justin Lu each added 25 markers.

Miller finished with 32 points, six rebounds, two assists, and one steal for SMB, which dropped to 0-2.
