TNT cripples Ginebra to take 3-2 lead in PBA Govs' Cup Finals

QUEZON CITY—TNT recovered its winning ways in the PBA Governors' Cup after drubbing Ginebra, 99-72, in the pivotal Game 5 on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Tropang Giga put a majority of 12,727 fans at "The Big Dome" silent after banking on their defense once more to pip the Gin Kings, holding them to 13 points in the second quarter and 15 in the third to pull away.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and RR Pogoy each scored 16 points with Hollis-Jefferson grabbing 10 rebounds for TNT, which now holds a pivotal 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series with a chance to finish Ginebra off on Friday night back at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Calvin Oftana put up 15 points, eight rebounds, and two assists.

Scottie Thompson and LA Tenorio each had 13 markers for the Gin Kings in a game where Justin Brownlee was held to only eight points.
