MANILA--Balti Baltazar's much-anticipated PBA debut could finally happen by Thursday night after Converge activated him on Wednesday ahead of its Commissioner's Cup game against NorthPort at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The FiberXers made it formal by signing him later in the day.
Although terms were not disclosed, it is understandable that Baltazar, being the first overall pick of this year's PBA Draft, is eligible to sign a maximum deal worth PHP420,000 per month.
Baltazar skipped the PBA Governors' Cup and the first three games of Converge in the ongoing conference as he finished his stint with Pampanga in the MPBL.
With the Giant Lanterns taking down the Quezon Huskers on Saturday night to become the regional league's first-ever two-time champs, Baltazar became eligible to join the FiberXers against the Batang Pier.
He joined the Converge practice on Tuesday, and the day later, the contract signing happened.
The Batang Pier and FiberXers clash at 5 p.m. Thursday, before the Blackwater Bossing take on the Meralco Bolts in the second game at 7:30 p.m.
