MANILA—Alec Stockton made possible the crucial plays that helped Converge complete a late comeback from Magnolia for a 93-91 win in their PBA Commissioner's Cup game on Sunday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Stockton hit a stop-and-pop three that tied the game with 41.8 seconds left and assisted on a go-ahead layup from Justin Arana with 5.3 seconds to go to cap the game-deciding 8-0 run to give the FiberXers the lead.
Jerrick Ahanmisi tried to save the Hotshots, but his three-point attempt fell short as time expired.
Arana finished with 24 points and seven rebounds for Converge, which moved up to 2-1.
Stockton added 18 points, seven rebounds, and 10 assists, while Kevin Racal and Cheick Diallo each put up 10 markers with Diallo also grabbing 16 boards.
Ricardo Ratliffe put up 25 points, 19 rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and one steal for Magnolia, which dropped to 1-1.
