PBA: ROS still thrives with Deon Thompson, keeps SMB slumping

SAN JUAN, MM—Rain Or Shine continued to glow with Deon Thompson as they added to San Miguel's early woes in the PBA Commissioner's Cup with a 107-93 Tuesday night win at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

The Elasto Painters pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Beermen, 37-21, to turn a close fight for most of the game into a rout.

Despite needing to play through foul trouble, Thompson led ROS, now with back-to-back wins after a conference-opening loss to Meralco, the time he sat out due to clearance issues, with 18 points, four rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and two steals.

Adrian Nocum, who once called the arena his home as part of the San Juan Knights in the MPBL, stepped up for the Elasto Painters' locals with 15 points, four rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

Jhonard Clarito, another former San Juan star, chipped in 10 points, 11 rebounds, and two assists.

June Mar Fajardo led SMB, now with back-toback losses after a conference opening win, with 20 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and one block.

Quincy Miller was held to just 12 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and one block.
