MANILA—Selangor FC fans were on the verge of seeing both its football and Mobile Legends Bang Bang programs crashing out of playoff contention in the international tournaments they are in.

However, a major comeback from the MLBB squad turned things around.

Selangor will have a postseason berth after all after its MLBB team sent CFU crashing with a 2-1 win in the final match of the M6 Swiss stages on Thursday night at the IOI Grand Exhibition and Convention Center in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

Minutes after Muangthong's 1-0 win against Jeonbuk denied Selangor's football team a spot in the AFC Champions League 2 knockout phase, the club's MLBB squad was facing elimination too as Khoun "Xingg" Amey, playing Wanwan, led CFU's overturning of a 0-6 kill deficit and a 4,200-gold deficit.

CFU was now up by up to 6,300 golds when Filipino import John "Innocent" Banal, playing as Moskov, scored a "maniac" killing streak and Hazziq "Stormie" Rizwan finally took Amey down with his Yve to complete the game-deciding wipe out that completed Selangor's reverse sweep.

CFU stunned Selangor in Game 1 only for the latter to get back at them by an 11-0 kill shutout in Game 2 to force Game 3.

With Vamos completing Blood Thirsty Kings' collapse with a 2-0 sweep, both the two MPL Malaysia representatives will enter the M6 knockout phase as they look to keep the world title home.

Team Liquid Indonesia sealed its own place in the Final 8 with a 2-0 sweep of Twisted Minds, also assuring that two Indonesian clubs, including the 3-0 RRQ Hoshi, will go deep into the MLBB Worlds.

Following the draw for the upper bracket quarterfinals, Selangor found itself in a blockbuster showdown against Fnatic Onic Philippines, the lone Filipino team in contention.

RRQ Hoshi will take on Vamos and Falcon Esports will battle NIP Flash in two more upper bracket quarterfinal pairings while the DOTA 2 rivalry between Liquid and Team Spirit will spill to MLBB in the fourth Top 8 pairing.
