DIBC: Zamboanga quickly fizzles anew, falls to Al Ahli Tripoli

MANILA--Zamboanga dropped its second straight game in the Dubai International Basketball Championship, suffering an 84-107 beating to Al Ahli Tripoli early Monday (Philippine Time) at the Al Nasr Club in Dubai.

Like its previous loss to Sharjah, Zamboanga started the game strong and led, 28-19, at the end of the first quarter.

Similarly, though, Zamboanga let Al Ahli Tripoli turn things around in the second quarter, getting outscored, 16-32, even as Al Ahli entered halftime ahead, 51-44.

Zamboanga tried to keep in step in the third quarter, but Al Ahli broke loose in the last moments of the said quarter before pulling away for good in the fourth.

Mohamed Sadi led Al Ahli with 25 points on an almost perfect 11-of-12 shooting, six rebounds, and three assists.

Wuat Alok added 24 points on 9-for-14 shooting, 11 rebounds, one assist, and one block.

Sam Deguara once again starred for Zamboanga, which dropped to 0-2, with 25 points on 11-for-15 shooting, eight rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal.

Adonis Thomas added 24 points on 10-of-18 field goals, four rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
