MANILA—Troy Rosario is expected to return to national team duties after national tactician Tim Cone confirmed his Gilas Pilipinas call-up.

Gilas is about to beef up preparations for the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers' third and final window in February.

As the national quintet saw the repercussions of the injuries sustained by Kai Sotto and Kevin Quiambao, Rosario will sophistically fill the positions left by the duo.

This prompted Gilas to extend their pool, which now included Rosario.

According to Cone, though he will still compete for the Final 12, his Ginebra teammate Jamie Malonzo and AJ Edu will likely return.

He will be together with Gilas when they will fly to Doha, Qatar for their training camp including a series of friendly games as part of their preparation for the February qualifying window.

Rosario is no stranger to the Gilas team as he was last seen in one of the Asian Qualifiers matches for the 2023 FIBA World Cup in 2021.

He's already been part of the Gilas Men since the 2016 Manila Olympic Qualifying Tournament averaging 6.5 points per game and seven rebounds per game.

Rosario was also impressive on his outing last 2017 SEABA Championship tallying 10.3 points, five rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game.
