MANILA--Even if he was fresh from arriving, JD Cagulangan put up a solid pro debut in the KBL, although Justin Gutang and the Seoul Samsung Thunders spoiled the Suwon KT Sonicboom's welcoming party for the recently crowned UAAP champ in a 78-63 road win at the Suwon KT Sonicboom Arena on Saturday.

Cagulangan came close to a double-double in only his first game with Suwon, tallying seven points and nine assists along with four rebounds and a whopping five steals.

However, the team fizzled in the third quarter as Seoul Samsung held them to just nine points in the said period to break the game wide open.

Choi Seong-Mo led the Thunders with 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, three steals, and one block, while Lee Jung-Hyun and Kofi Cockburn each added 14 points with the latter going 6-for-6 from the field.

Gutang and Marcus Derrickson each put up 11 markers with the former going 3-for-3 from three-point range.

Park Jun-Young made 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting, six rebounds, and one assist for Suwon.

Meanwhile, Carl Tamayo followed up on his career game with another 30-piece in Changwon's 86-82 win against Anyang at the Anyang Gymnasium.

Two nights after dropping 37 points, Tamayo put up 31 points on 14-for-23 field goals with eight rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one block to lead the Sakers.

However, Changwon found itself on the verge of losing again as Anyang went on a 9-0 run within the final 50 seconds of the game to cut its lead down to two, 84-82, with 12 seconds left.

The Red Boosters gambled on going for the steal, and they had to pay the price as Darryl Monroe scored on a dagger layup to ice the Sakers' win.

Jung In-Duk added 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting, one rebound, four assists, and one block, while Monroe had 13 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and three steals for Changwon.

Deonte Burton flirted with a triple-double after tallying 20 markers, nine boards, and nine dimes with two steals and one block for Anyang.

Javi Gomez De Liano had a solid outing too with 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting, five rebounds, one assist, and one block as the three former University of the Philippines stars who played on Saturday stood out.
