Juan Gomez De Liano and Jameel Warney helped Seoul SK spoiled a short-lived KBL debut for Kevin Quiambao. Seoul SK Knights |
MANILA--Kevin Quiambao's much-awaited KBL debut ended prematurely as he had to watch the Seoul SK Knights bludgeon his Goyang Sono Skygunners helplessly at the bench.
Seoul SK tripped Goyang for an 84-57 win at the Goyang Sono Arena on Sunday as the home team fizzled since losing Quiambao.
Quiambao made some quick impact for the Skygunners, hitting two three-pointers late in the first quarter and early in the second for what would be his only six markers for the game.
However, he sprained his ankle upon landing following another three-point attempt, and he never came back into the game.
With its new recruit out the rest of the way, Goyang lost steam in the second half, only scoring 20 points, 10 for each quarter, even as Seoul SK let Juan Gomez De Liano finish the job.
An Young-Jun, Jameel Warney, and Oh Jae-Hyun each scored 13 points with Warney also grabbing 10 rebounds for the Knights, who improved their league-best record to 22-6.
Gomez De Liano contributed eight points with a perfect 2-for-2 clip from three-point range, all in the second half, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Lim Dong-Seop put up 12 points, going 4-for-4 from inside the arc, two rebounds, two assists, and one steal for the Skygunners, who fell to 9-20.
