MANILA--Calvin Epistola delivered in crunch time as Busan took down Daegu, 87-81, in their KBL battle on Tuesday at the Daegu Gymnasium.

The Filipino-Canadian, who has only been getting limited minutes for the Egis this season, scored seven of his nine points within the final three minutes including a dagger layup against SJ Belangel's defense that iced their win and doused cold water on the Pegasus' comeback bid.

Caddy Lalanne led Busan, which moved up to 15-17, a half-game behind Wonju for sixth place, with 19 points on 9-for-13 shooting, 10 rebounds, and one assist, while Heo Ung added 18 points, one rebound, and six assists.

Epistola finished with a 4-for-6 field goal clip even as he also tallied one assist and three steals in 14 and a half minutes of play off the bench.

Andrew Nicholson put up 25 points, seven rebounds, one block, and one steal, while Belangel, who played through an ankle sprain late in the game, added 21 points, two rebounds, four assists, and two steals for Daegu, which missed out on tying Changwon for third place and instead dropped to 18-14.
