MANILA--SJ Belangel played his best game in the KBL as he led the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus to a 114-77 whipping of the Seoul Samsung Thunders on Saturday at the Jamsil Arena in Seoul.

Belangel exploded for 36 points on 12-for-17 shooting including 6-for-10 from beyond the arc as Daegu erupted in the last three quarters to pull away from Seoul Samsung.

The former Ateneo star played a splendid all-around game too with three rebounds, eight assists, and three steals for the Pegasus, who improved to 14-10.

Andrew Nicholson added 22 points on 6-for-9 field goals including a near flawless 4-of-5 from three-point range, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Youssou Ndoye chipped in 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 12 rebounds.

Lee Jung-Hyun put up 21 points on a perfect 7-of-7 clip from inside the arc, two rebounds, four assists, and one steal for the Thunders, who dropped to 7-17.

Justin Gutang contributed 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting, three assists, and one steal.

Meanwhile, Ulsan tripped Changwon, 85-64, in another game at the Dongchun Gymnasium in Ulsan.

The Phoebus gradually drubbed the Sakers at home despite the latter showing promise in the second quarter to keep in step with league leaders Seoul SK Knights.

Gaige Prim led Ulsan, now at 18-7, a half-game behind Seoul SK for first place, with 24 points on 8-of-12 field goals, 10 rebounds, and four assists.

Lee Woo-Suk contributed 16 points, four rebounds, and six assists, while Shawn Long chipped in 15 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists.

Migs Oczon put up seven points, two rebounds, and one assist in nearly 12 minutes off the bench.

Jeon Seong-Hyun made 18 points on 5-of-10 shooting on threes and three assists to lead Changwon, which dropped to 13-12.

The Sakers will play the tail end of a back-to-back at home against the Goyang Sono Skygunners, and speculations have it that Carl Tamayo, currently recovering from a groin injury, might be reactivated for the game.
