MANILA—Blackwater played spoiler to Phoenix's last hopes for a playoff spot in the PBA Commissioner's Cup after a 100-92 win on Tuesday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
In a game where they surprisingly sat George King out, the Bossing's big men stepped up as they connived in the game-deciding 8-0 run within the last 3:20 of the game that broke a 92-all tie.
Justin Chua led Blackwater, which tied its victim at 3-8, with 22 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, and two steals.
Christian David added 20 points, 12 rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Despite a solid 32-point game from Donovan Smith with nine rebounds, five assists, one block, and one steal, Phoenix could not capitalize on having to play an All-Filipino Blackwater side as they were pushed to the brink of elimination.
