MANILA--Ginebra took a significant step closer to a Top 2 finish in the PBA Commissioner's Cup eliminations with an 86-63 blowout win against Blackwater on Sunday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Welcoming Jamie Malonzo back after a nine-month layoff, the Gin Kings pulled away from the Bossing in the third quarter, outscoring them, 27-13, to go up, 66-45, at the end of the quarter.
Justin Brownlee led Ginebra, now joining Hong Kong Eastern and Converge in a tie for third place at 6-3, just behind second-placed Rain Or Shine on winning rate, with 18 points, seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block.
RJ Abarrientos added 15 points, going 4-for-4 on deuces, two rebounds, one assist, and two steals off the bench.
Malonzo had eight points, three rebounds, and one steal in his first game back.
George King put up 27 points, six rebounds, and one assist for Blackwater, which fell to 1-7.
