MANILA--NorthPort ended its stint in the PBA Commissioner's Cup eliminations with a statement 120-93 ripping of Blackwater on Saturday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Behind a consistent offense that saw them scoring 30 points each quarter, the Batang Pier put themselves in their strongest position possible to land a Top 2 spot in the quarterfinals, meaning they only need one win to advance to the semis.
Kadeem Jack led NorthPort, which finished the elims at 9-3, with 30 points on 11-of-17 field goals, six rebounds, one assist, and two steals.
Joshua Munzon added 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting, one rebound, five assists, and one steal, while Arvin Tolentino chipped in a triple-double of 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists with three steals and one block.
Assured of at least a Top 4 finish, the team can end up inside the Top 2 if at least two clubs from Hong Kong Eastern, Meralco, and TNT lose another game.
If all three teams drop their fourth game, the Batang Pier will lock in the top seed.
Justin Chua put up 15 points, eight rebounds, and three assists for Blackwater, which dropped to 3-9 to their own stint in the conference as they played all-Filipino again.
