MANILA—Rain Or Shine went on an offensive tear to hand NorthPort a 127-107 beating in their PBA Commissioner's Cup game on Thursday night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
The Elasto Painters zapped the Batang Pier early on with a 33-18 first quarter, and they sustained their offensive brilliance the rest of the way.
Deon Thompson led ROS, which joined a four-way tie with Meralco, Hong Kong Eastern, and Ginebra at 6-3, with 27 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.
Santi Santillan and Adrian Nocum each added 16 points with Nocum also grabbing 10 rebounds for a double-double and even had a shot at a triple-double with seven assists.
Kadeem Jack scored 39 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, two blocks, and three steals for NorthPort.
On its second try, the team tied with Converge at 7-3 instead of clinching an outright quarterfinal seat.
With the outcome, TNT moved up to first place as the race for the two one-win bonuses in the quarterfinals heats up.
