PBA: ROS nears top spot with rout vs Blackwater

MANILA––Rain Or Shine sustained an early explosion to drub Blackwater, 122-106, in their PBA Commissioner's Cup game on Wednesday night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

The Elasto Painters quickly sizzled, dropping 39 points in the first quarter to take a 14-point lead.

The Bossing somehow controlled the Elasto Painters' offense in the second quarter as they cut the lead to nine at halftime, but the latter erupted for 38 points in the third to pull away for good.

Deon Thompson scored 25 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, and one block to lead ROS, which improved to 5-1.

This puts them half a game behind NorthPort, which will play Ginebra later Wednesday, for the top spot.

Adrian Nocum added 22 points, five rebounds, one assist, three steals, and one block, while Santi Santillan chipped in 20 points, four rebounds, and four assists, both coming off the bench.

George King fired 35 points with 12 rebounds and four assists for Blackwater, which fell to 1-5.
