MANILA--Phoenix opened 2025 on a crucially high note by romping Terrafirma, 122-108, in their PBA Commissioner's Cup clash on Tuesday night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
In a showdown between slumping teams at the end of the 2024 part of the conference, the Fuel Masters preserved a 31-13 blast in the second quarter by scoring 34 points in the fourth quarter to add more woes to the Dyip.
Donovan Smith blasted off for 37 points with seven rebounds, three assists, and five blocks to lead Phoenix, which moved up to 2-5, a game behind NLEX and San Miguel for the last quarterfinal spot.
Jason Perkins added 16 points, two rebounds, two assists, and one block.
Brandon Edwards put up 25 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and one steal, while Louie Sangalang added 22 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two blocks for Terrafirma, which remained winless at 0-8.
