MANILA--Kevin Quiambao clarified on Monday night that the ankle injury he suffered the day before is not as dreaded as what was previously reported.

"Hindi siya ruptured," the six-foot-five swingman said on his Facebook page hours after reports from Goyang surfaced that he tore a ligament in his right ankle during a bad fall in the second quarter of the Skygunners' blowout loss at home to the Seoul SK Knights.

Kim Woo-Joong of Naver reported that Quiambao is expected to sit out for four weeks with the possibility that he could be reactivated by Feb. 7.

Based on the timeframe, Quiambao's availability for the February window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers with Gilas Pilipinas is also in question.

However, if the former La Salle star's injury is no worse than a sprain, he could play again as soon as next week depending on his recovery.

Quiambao is listed as "doubtful" for Goyang's next game on Wednesday night against Migs Oczon and Ulsan, but "KQ" vowed that he will make a quick return from his ankle injury once he gets cleared again.

"I will be back soon," Quiambao concluded.
