TNT rips also-ran Phoenix to enter PBA Comm's Cup QFs

MANILA—TNT formally booked its spot in the PBA Commissioner's Cup quarterfinals after downing Phoenix, 106-70, on Friday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The Tropang Giga blew the game wide open in the middle quarters, outscoring the Fuel Masters, 54-29, in the second and third periods.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson led TNT, which moved up to a tie with Meralco and Hong Kong Eastern in third place at 7-3, with 15 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks.

RR Pogoy added 12 points, six rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

Tyler Tio put up 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting, two rebounds, two assists, and one steal for Phoenix, which was formally knocked out of contention after ending its stint in the conference at 3-9.
