MANILA––Adrian Nocum got the last laugh over Jordan Heading in an explosive combo guard battle as Rain Or Shine got back over Converge in their PBA Commissioner's Cup quarterfinal clash with a 114-104 Game 2 win on Friday night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Just as Heading's first-half show came to a close, it was Nocum's turn to come alive as he exploded in the second half to help the Elasto Painters erupt for 63 points in the final 24 minutes to turn the tides against the sweep-seeking FiberXers.
Nocum finished with 28 points on 11-of-17 shooting including 4-of-6 on triples, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals to lead ROS, which tied the series at one game apiece.
Deon Thompson also had 28 points with 18 rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks.
Heading ended up with 29 points with seven rebounds, six assists, and one block to lead Converge, but he was held to only seven points in the second half after firing 22 in the first half.
Alec Stockton added 20 points, four rebounds, and two assists, while Cheick Diallo and Justin Arana each contributed 17 points.
The import also had 15 rebounds and one block.
