MANILA--Kevin Quiambao played his best game as a bonafide pro, leading Goyang to an 86-82 win against Wonju in their KBL Sunday clash at the Goyang Sono Arena.
Quiambao sizzled for 36 points with six triples alongside 12 rebounds, three assists, and two steals to lead the SkyGunners over the Promy, who still had a chance to pull off a comeback win.
Goyang was on track to pull off a blowout win at home after racing to a 50-29 lead at the half.
However, Wonju blasted off in the second half and drew to within two, 80-82, with one minute left.
Disaster struck on the Promy, though.
Ethan Alvano was thrown out of the game for a second technical foul, and Quiambao hit the technical free throw that increased the SkyGunners' lead to three, 83-80, with 14 seconds left.
Lee Jae-Do thought he still kept the door open for Wonju to complete the comeback as he missed his second free throw off a Lee Yong-Woo foul, but Quiambao grabbed the offensive rebound and iced the game with two free throws with 10 seconds to go.
Lee Jae-Do scored 17 points, grabbed five rebounds, assisted on one shot, and had four steals for Goyang, which improved to 11-24.
Former Phoenix Asian import Lee Gwan-Hee led Wonju, which dropped to 16-20, with 29 points on 10-of-16 shooting including 7-of-10 on threes, three rebounds, one assist, and two steals, while Alvano added 18 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and two steals.
