MANILA--Louis Ariola has been elevated again to Smart Omega's main roster as the MVP Group-backed club announced its MPL Philippines Season 15 roster on Tuesday night.
Ariola, who spent the second semester of 2024 with Smart Omega Neos in MDL Philippines Season 4, will take over the EXP lane spot vacated by Nowee "Ryota" Macasa.
Save for Macasa's exit, Smart Omega retained the rest of its Season 14 roster, namely team captain Joshua "Ch4knu" Mangilog, Andrew "Andoryuu" Flora, Jayson "Ukir" Alupit, and Jomari "Jowm" Pingol.
Meanwhile, Smart Omega also announced the signing of Czedrick "Super Yoshi" Romero.
Romero last played for Team Liquid Academy Philippines in the previous developmental league season.
He started 2024 as a member of TNC in MPL Philippines Season 13, and he will start 2025 again with a first-division squad.
Romero will play as Mangilog's backup in the roamer position.
After barely missing the Season 13 playoffs, Smart Omega pulled off a huge turnaround in Season 14, finishing third in the regular season behind Onic Philippines and AP Bren.
However, Smart Omega was stunned by sixth-seeded Blacklist International in the first round of the playoffs, ending what had been an inspiring run disappointingly.
Smart Omega aims to finish the job this time in Season 15.
