MAKATI--Onic Philippines showed grace under pressure to escape a monumental upset from TNC for a 2-0 win in their MPL Philippines Season 15 clash on Friday night at the Green Sun Hotel Ballroom.
TNC, now led by Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera, pulled off a surprise as they raced to a 6-3 kill lead against Onic Philippines in Game 1, even as the team took the first Lord to put more pressure on the latter.
However, Onic PH turned things around late in the game and completed the comeback to take the series opener.
TNC looked poised to force the decider when they raced to a 7-0 kill lead in the rematch, but a crucial clash where Onic PH wiped out its opponent in the evolved Lord area paved the way to the comeback and sweep.
Onic PH tied Aurora, 2-0 winner over Twisted Minds PH in the first match, at the top of the standings ahead of an early finals rematch on Saturday night.
