MANILA--Converge will now pin its luck on Rey Suerte as he will go purple following an approved trade on Tuesday.
In exchange, the Blackwater Bossing acquired BJ Andrade from the FiberXers.
Suerte was selected second overall in the special Gilas Pilipinas round of the 2019 PBA Draft, and he now has a new home after staying with Blackwater for the past five years.
In the ongoing PBA Commissioner's Cup, he averaged 4.8 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game after 10 outings.
Meanwhile, Andrade is gradually getting his groove in the PBA after he was sidelined with an ACL injury.
In 11 games, he averaged 3.5 points, 0.2 rebounds, and 0.5 assists per contest for Converge, and a stint with Blackwater could improve his game a lot.
Already eliminated from contention this conference, both the FiberXers and Bossing have already begun their gear-up for the season-ending PBA Philippine Cup.
