MANILA--RJ Abarrientos called out a basher on Friday night after he took things a bit too low following Ginebra's Game 2 loss to Meralco in the PBA Commissioner's Cup quarterfinals.

The rookie point guard said he received a death threat after he missed a four-pointer that could have forced overtime in their showdown at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

"Grabe talaga mga tao sa social media. Talo lang sa pusta, biglang death threats gamit dummy accounts. Pati pamilya dimadamay pa. Paki-report! Nakakaalarma na yung ganitong ugali," Abarrientos said in an Instagram story.

He followed it up with a screenshot of comments he and fiance Arlove De Jesus received from a certain itsme.again.27, who threatened that he would gun down Abarrientos for missing the equalizer from way out, which according to the basher cost him a lot of money after he lost the bet.

Abarrientos struggled from the perimeter overall in Game 2, only making 1-for-6 on three-pointers with the missed buzzer-beater his only four-point attempt of the night.

He finished 5-for-15 from the field for 12 points with one rebound, three assists, and two steals off the bench.

Abarrientos then called on his fellow basketball players to stand up too amid such banters.

"Naglalaro kami nang maayos, at trabaho namin ito. Parte ng basketball ang matalo. Sa mga kapwa ko players, di dapat tino-tolerate yung ganito," his statement concluded.
