MANDALUYONG—A pocket tournament is on the horizon for both the Philippine football teams after the Philippine Football Federation forged a partnership with GoTyme Bank.

The Philippines will be hosting the GoTyme Bank Cup, and the PFF, according to national team director Freddy Gonzalez on Tuesday during the launch of the alliance at The Westin, already extended invites to South Africa, Vietnam, Singapore, and Indonesia.

Gonzalez then said that the men's tournament will be held during the September FIFA window, which runs from Sept. 1-9.

On the other hand, the women's tournament will happen early next year.

The GoTyme Bank Cup is just one of the major highlights of the three-year partnership between the PFF and GoTyme.

GoTyme Bank will also manage the national teams' finances, and fan engagement events like meet-and-greet sessions and watch parties are expected.

Also in the pipeline is a grassroots football initiative.

“This is the first time we are partnering with a bank, and we couldn’t have found a better ally than GoTyme Bank,” said Gonzalez.

“We both share the goal of bringing Philippine football further, not only by supporting our national teams but also by developing training camps for young kids. This is a shared vision that shows GoTyme Bank is the right partner to help us build the future of Filipino football.”
