MANILA--Val Acuna caught fire on Wednesday night as GenSan added some more early MPBL woes to Sarangani as they took a 73-58 win at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum.
Acuna fired 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting from beyond the arc with one steal for the Warriors, who pulled away in the second quarter as they outscored the Marlins, 21-10, to open a 45-28 halftime lead.
Mark Cruz added 12 points, three rebounds, four assists, and two steals for GenSan.
Rev Diputado led Sarangani, which fell to 0-2 in the young season, with 11 points, two rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
