Jeremy Pacatiw shows a sign of sportsmanship after bowing to Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu. ONE Championship |
MANILA--Mongolian mixed martial arts sensation Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu remains a thorn in the side of Filipino fighters.
He added Jeremy Pacatiw to his list of victims following their clash at ONE Fight Night 29 on Saturday at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
In a showdown between ranked bantamweight contenders, Baatarkhuu first showcased his skill by connecting on a spinning wheel kick to Pacatiw right at the start of the match.
Baatarkhuu then turned the bout into somund action as his positioning made it difficult for Pacatiw to recover.
Pacatiw had a chance to overturn the fight midway into the second round as he found a slight opening for an armbar hold. Still, Baatarkhuu successfully fought back and regained control in the end.
Baatarkhuu, who got the unanimous decision win, moved up to 13-3 overall while remaining unbeaten against Filipinos with a 5-0 total head-to-head record, even as he solidified his current rank in the 145-pound division at number four.
Pacatiw, on the other hand, had his string of back-to-back submission wins snapped and fell to 13-6 as he could be moved out of the number five rank in the bantamweights.
