MANILA--Ethan Alvano and Wonju did just enough to survive a 34-point blast from Carl Tamayo in a 67-63 win against Changwon in their KBL battle on Monday at the Wonju Gymnasium.

The two Filipino imports took matters to their own hands in the last 2:21 of the game, exchanging baskets that kept the showdown close.

However, Alvano virtually iced the game for the Promy with a booming triple with 18 seconds left to give them a 65-59 lead.

Tamayo scored on a quick basket that drew the Sakers to within four, 61-65, with 14 seconds left, but Alvano hit two more free throws that formally sealed the Promy's win.

Alvano finished with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting, four rebounds, four assists, and one steal for Wonju, which solidified its hold of sixth place at 19-22, 3.5 games ahead of Anyang, which is facing Seoul Samsung as of posting.

Jeong Hyo-Geun added 18 points on 8-of-14 field goals, nine rebounds, one steal, and one block, while Omari Spellman put up 12 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and two steals.

Tamayo went 13-for-26 from the field while also posting eight rebounds, two assists, and three steals for Changwon, which dropped to 25-16, a half-game ahead of Ulsan for second place.
